The pink tub will be out of the bathroom tomorrow. We are waiting for the sealant to dry, so it will be all much better tomorrow. I couldn’t sleep properly. I went to bed with a headache after taking some painkillers. I woke up early again with the pain, couldn’t sleep, so I got up and sat in the sun room with a hot water bottle on my forehead. This sometimes helps, though I need to move the bootle to my neck or other parts of the face to fool my brain about the location of the pain. It doesn’t always work.
Birthday tomorrow, so it will be shrimp tacos with a paste de requesón from the book by Janet. By the way, if you’re into Mexican food, and don’t know where to start, you can check out Vicky Receta Fácil and Jauja Cocina Mexicana channels on YT. I have plenty of books and inspirations from my trips to Mexico and my Mexican obsession/fascination.
The weekend is here, I can finally stop and rest. It’s been a difficult period with a lot of ambivalence and decisions that I had to make.

It has been almost two months with a pink tub situation. The shower will be fixed on Friday. You never know. Dear John will have little love for me, since I found a cheaper option - a few hundreds saved, John not best pleased, but I am (or hopefully will be). It is raining again. Next week will be very busy. I am starting to look into ontologies again, as all the work I did in the past seems to be very applicable for what I need right now: more automation.

It was a very warm day today. We drove to one of the forests around. We got a few chanterelles, but they were quite dry. It looks like nobody goes there to pick them. We also found brambles. The sun was going down, so we sat down on the way back. We had tea with rum and winter spices - one of my favourite - old Czechoslovakian Preso čaj - rum flavoured, but bringing back memories. We didn’t last that long. Mosquitoes were very hungry and they didn’t give a damn about thick layers of repellent.

We discovered a few forests around. One of them is interesting, as it is varied with a lot of different types pf trees. Parts of it are very wet, with bogs and the smell that is far from pleasant. There are a few meadows in there. One of them with lots of birch trees and grass. But there is also one with a lot of colourful moss and heather. It kind of is a bit spooky. And of course lots of insects trying to eat you alive, but of course, we go prepared.

We used a lot of mushrooms this year. All that made very tasty dishes. There were also a few interesting new discoveries: species I didn’t know were edible, which actually were very tasty and quite versatile. I can’t wait what we’ll get next year!

We do seem to benefit from the forests. When I was a child, I learnt a lot about foraging plants and mushrooms. There seems to be an abundance of free food in there, so why not?
